
POSTOPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
After your procedure you will be taken to the recovery area. From there you will be discharged to home.
Once home take a nap. sleep for about 2 hours then rise. Once awake go about as normal routine as possible. you may go out to dinner the night of your surgery.
Stay awake until your normal bedtime. Every hour stand upright with you arms at your sides and slowly raise them until your hands touch over your head. (The jumping jack motion only slowly.) Do this 5 times every hour until you retire.
Wear whatever clothing is comfortable. Don’t feel you must stay in a tight undergarment. some patients like the tank tops with the built in shelf.
You may shower the next day. Shower right over the tapes under the breasts. They won’t come off.
Take tylenol or ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours as needed for pain. You will be given a small amount of a stronger medication if the ibuprofen isn't adequate. Take this only if needed.
Please call the office the following day for your follow-up appointment and to check in with your progress. We will call you the afternoon of surgery to make sure you are doing all the things to ensure a swift recovery. You must do your part and follow the instructions to help complete the process. Always call if you are unsure as to what to do.
