After surgery, it’s normal to have sensitivity and minor discomfort. Pain is minimal, and rarely requires narcotic analgesics. Swelling is normal and it can peak at 48-72 hours after surgery. Minimal crusting is often present at the graft site. Small bandages are placed at the donor site and bleeding is minimal because the sites are very small. New hair grafts may undergo shock in the first to fourth months after procedure and growth may resume after that period.
