The New “GOLD STANDARD” for Hair Replacement and the First and Only FDA Cleared Follicular Unit Harvesting System

The Benefits of automated Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE are no scalped incision, no linear scars, no sutures, less risk of complications, minimal discomfort, fewer activity limitations, faster recovery, and a more natural result on the donor site than traditional stripincisional methods.

Hair Loss Consultation

Androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern baldness is the leading cause of hair loss in men and women. In this condition, hormones and hereditary predisposition produce thinning hair pattern baldness. Different patterns of baldness exist in men and women. Medical conditions may also cause hair loss, and these include fever, thyroid disease, medications, infections and cancer treatment among others. During the consultation, a medical evaluation is performed and options of treatment discussed.

Male pattern baldness usually begins with a receding hairline and thinning of the crown, with continued progression over time. Female pattern baldness usually consists of thinning over the top of scalp and may spare the frontal hairline. It’s important to anticipate the progression of baldness and select the best candidate for hair replacement.

Anesthesia

Hair transplantation surgery is performed with local anesthesia and oral sedation. The procedure takes place in a comfortable chair and the patient can relax, sleep, watch a movie/television, listen to music and will be able to interact with the surgeon and the members of the transplant team. The average surgery may take 4-8 hours, depending on the number of grafts performed. Because of the length of procedure, the day includes taking breaks for snacks and lunch.

After Surgery

After surgery, it’s normal to have sensitivity and minor discomfort. Pain is minimal, and rarely requires narcotic analgesics. Swelling is normal and it can peak at 48-72 hours after surgery. Minimal crusting is often present at the graft site. Small bandages are placed at the donor site and bleeding is minimal because the sites are very small. New hair grafts may undergo shock in the first to fourth months after procedure and growth may resume after that period.

Neograft Hair Replacement

Psychological Impact of Hair Loss

Hair loss can have a psychological impact both men and women. Thinning hair can make a women feel less attractive and older, while men may feel loss of self esteem and confidence. Hair loss may cause or worsen psychological problems such as anxiety, fear of social situations, and even difficulties in career placement. Hair replacement has the potential to reverse these changes and improve quality of life.

Hair Loss in Women

Women are more sensitive and aware of thinning hair. Hair loss in women occurs in a more gradual process leading to women often using different hairstyles to hide this problem. Hair loss in women may impact psychologically on self esteem, confidence and attractiveness.

Hair replacement provides a great option in restoring hair density and improving appearance in female hair loss.

How Many Procedures Are Required

The number of sessions required to fill an area depends on the area and the extent of hair loss, and the desired density. Most will require between one the three sessions.

A New Process

Transplanted hair grows indefinitely. Once the treatments are complete, it is rare to require additional procedures. Hair transplantation is a substantial investment with results that are permanent, and may be less expensive than other hair loss treatments when considered over time. Hair loss is common concern of men and women with a desire to improve their appearance. Today’s newer techniques make the process more comfortable and the results more natural. The Neograft automated Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) increases accuracy and graft survival, while reducing time and improving overall results of hair transplantation.
